Sweet Treat Dessert & Candy Buffets {Purple and Grey Inspiration}

Plan to see some varying color combinations in 2011 weddings, showers, and other celebrations.   This year, the color range of 2010 will meet some new flavor creating a clean, chic design.  For example, the standard pink and mocha will be swapped out for purple and grey and the conventional sage and brown will be replaced with green and yellow.

If I was better with a camera, I could visually share some of my {Purple & Grey Inspiration} with you.  I never have it handy when it is most needed!

My Inspiration:

First, a fall wedding I attended last October…

It was the first time I saw someone play with purple hues and do it very well.  From the backdrop lighting to the colored rock candy and signature cocktail of the evening, the colors of eggplant and plum garnished the reception venue.   It was playful and fresh without being too loud and swanky.  With a touch of femininity, it accentuated the bride without overshadowing the groom.

Then, it was time to paint my own bedroom…

I splashed a daring grey-toned paint up on the walls with some hesitation.  The result: a clean, sharp appearance as it popped next to the thick, white molding.

After this inspiration, what I ended up with was a visually-appealing color combination: purple and grey.

{Sweet Treat Dessert Table} *NEW LAUNCH*

Cheryl of CW distinctive DESIGNS is excited to*LauNch* the new Sweet Treat Dessert Table! This time it’s part of a teal & brown {Winter Wonderland-Inspired} Baptismal Celebration for her son.  Who better to test out the new edible craft, but her family and friends!

In keeping with the theme, Cheryl came up with unique + clever ways to incorporate her design.

Tissue Pom Poms were attached to the wall to add dimension and color.  This DIY project tutorial is featured on CW distinctive DESIGNS’s blog.

The INSPIRATION for the sweet treat table was a modern teal and brown invitation ordered from Tiny Prints and a color-coordinating cardstock that was chic and fun!  The centerpiece of the sweet treat dessert table was an unbelievable 4-tiered cupcake stand displaying my FAVORITE current OBSESSION – sTuFFeD cUpCaKeS!  I made cupcake wrappers, and the cupcakes were adorned using DIY toothpick labels.

Candy choices included: dark chocolate covered pomegranates & blueberries, chocolate covered pretzels, Ferrero Rondnoir chocolates, gummy cola bottles, and sour gummy raspberries

Guests were able to enjoy the desserts throughout the celebration, and take some home for an enjoyable favor in a frosted cupcake box that were sealed with a petal hook.

The DIRTcups were personalized with petal-shaped cut-out stickers. I designed and created all the stickers and labels. I love using varying shapes and sizes to add to the design!

Caramel popcorn clusters filled the homemade cardstock candy cones.

Other dessert treats included: chocolate-dipped hazelnut wafers, brownies, Reese’s dessert bars, & cream puffs
