As you all know, I am a party printable designer, dessert baker, and sweets stylist, but some may not have known that I am also a teacher. In other words, I may be clandestinely writing a “wish list” for myself right now (shhhhh….don’t let the secret out).

Additional TIPS:

**** Do not hesitate to give a gift earlier than the actual holiday, perhaps the week before, particularly if it is food. Many students give edible items, but a belly can only squeeze in so many treats at once, especially the day before a big holiday feast!

**** If there are multiple teachers or support staff in the room or on the “teaching team,” try giving one large gift, such as a box of cookies. It usually is more cost-effective and allows the team to share, indulge, and enjoy! Again, perhaps a week early, would be a nice surprise:)

Planning my kids’ parties and significant events are always the highlights of my year. Yet, seeing time fly by is so bittersweet:) I was so happy to be able to capture some of the best parts of this fabulous, sunny day celebrating the birthdays of my two boys (ages 1 and 3 but ONLY a day apart…people can’t even plan that if they tried). They are blessed with so many friends/family memebers and I wanted to be sure that we accomodated all the different ages of the guests. Something for everyone! I made sure to order six different flavors of delectable cupcakes from Little Sweet Cakes. Shown above are caramel french toast. They should not be allowed to bake and sell something so delicious! Did I mention that Little Sweet Cakes is our cupcake baker??!! You might just have to be sure to order cupcakes for the next dessert table we design for you!

Each child received a personalized t-shirt smock and a blank white canvas to finger paint with.

One of the birthday boys is VERY particuliar about his style of painting and paid close attention to the detail of his artwork. Tongue out and all…

Snazzy Jazzy Faces did a remarkable job of customizing body art/tattoos and face paintings according to each child’s wish. We had sports logos, Disney characters, and pretty glitter images.

This artwork is a keeper;)

CW distinctive DESIGNS specializes in dessert tables and candy buffets, but it is a great pleasure when we get to cross over to overall event designer. I marvel over some details that event planners/designers pull off, and definitely have an overwhelming appreciation for every detail that they think of and carry through on. I realize some people won’t ever notice the coordinating patterns on the paper items, or the placement of the favor box, or even the complimentary fabric used throughout a venue, but I do…AND I LOVE it!!

I always create an inspiration board for my events for various reasons. 1. It helps the client to step into my mind and understand my vision. 2. It helps to keep all vendors that I use or bring in to be on the same page. 3. (Most importantly) It helps me coordinate all of the fabric, ribbons, embellishments, treats, paper, etc that I am using.

My vision for this Christening was classy country club, so it was perfect that we were set up in the sunroom of the venue. The whites were crisper and the colors were more vibrant. I love patterns; for that reason, I used polka dots because it was a baby event, the chevron because it shouts, “Modern!” and focused on argyle to highlight my “prepster” vision.

When Lindsay, from Cakes-By-Me, contacted me to setup a candy table for her dear friend’s bridal shower, I knew it was going to be alongside her delectable dessert spread. Yet, I never knew this event would turn into a sweet treat haven. Another fun sweet treat dessert table collaboration between CW distinctive DESIGNS and Cakes-By-Me.

I quickly got started on the paper goods (labels, menus, cupcake toppers, signs, etc) because it needed to be cohesive and capture the shimmery, clean essence she envisioned with white, silver and muted pink. Check back in on our ETSY SHOP for these party printables; they should be ready for purchase soon. Quatrefoil is everywhere on the wedding scene, and I am obsessed! Inevitably, this was going to be the basis to all of my printables created.

White Chinese take-out containers were used to store all of the guests’ goodies, and additional bags were readily available for the “overflow” of edible treats.

Desserts included mik shake shooters, cupcakes, chocolate dipped Rice Krispie Treats, ombre cakes, banana split bites, cake pops, champagne popsicles, chocolate covered Oreos, a wide variety of candy favorites, and even more… Check out our facebook page for even more highlights from the candy table that day.

Although the desserts caught much of the crowds’ attention, the home-cooked food did not go unnoticed. The guests had a large array of dip options to choose from, sweet and sour kielbasa (close to this Polish girl’s heart), pulled pork sliders, cheese and antipasto kabobs, etc.

Lindsay and her friends created place settings with silver chargers, and wine glasses in order to create some elegance. Moreover, beautiful greenery and large flower pots were brought in to encircle the tented area.
